Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for my fresh flowers?

Fresh flowers are thirsty! Check on & refill the water levels daily. Avoid putting your flowers in direct sunlight or in warm/hot environments.

How long should my flowers last?

Garden grown flowers are very different from those grown for the floral trade. Garden blooms are more delicate and not always perfect which is what makes them so special! Typically flowers from the grocery store and florists are shipped from around the world and are already days or weeks old by the time they get to you. Our flowers are cut fresh at the farm daily and may only be a couple hours old by the time you pick up your arrangement! If you take care of your flowers, you can expect them to stay perky for about a week.

How is the farm sustainable?

A flower’s journey to you can span continents and oceans, covering literally tens of thousands of miles – all in a matter of days. Flowers for the commercial market are grown in many parts of the world resulting in excess carbon emissions that contribute to the climate crisis. Flowers are also treated with synthetic pesticides, which stays on the bouquets that make it to supermarkets and some commercial florist shops.

Our farm will never use chemicals, and we only use natural compost and fertilizers to help build our soil. When you pick up flowers from us you can feel good about how they got to you knowing our process does not harm the earth.

Do you deliver?

All of the arrangements on our website are for local pickup. If you need a delivery, please send us an email at stonygroundfarm@gmail.com and we can discuss a fee for this option.
